Now that you are seriously considering developing a website, we have devised a lsit of things to consider to help you organize the initial stages of the web creation process.
- To figure out what your website will be comprised of, pretend you are giving a speech about your organization. Each point you want to talk about would likely be a page.
- Start collecting brochures, powerpoint presentations, e-mails and letters that describe different aspects of your business. If you have pictures on your computer or on disk somewhere, make copies and put them all in one place. If you don't have pictures, buy a disposable camera and appoint someone to take pictures of every aspect of your organization.
- Visit other sites on the internet in your line of work to get ideas. Visit sites that have nothing to do with your organization as well.
- Sketch out what you would like your website to look like.
- Prior to a meeting with a website designer, compile the above listed information on disk and printed form and create a packet of information to be handed over.
